The image above is of the last operating sugarcane mill on the Island of Kaua'i. Its
scheduled closure in September 2009 will bring 180 continuous years of Kaua'i sugar cane production
and milling to a close.
The rumor is that corn fields will soon replace the cane fields of Kaua'i.
